The Duchess Strikes Again!

(Getty photo)
The Duchess of Cambridge hit a high style note last night at a charity event in this pale sea foam green Amanda Wakeley gown.  With less than a 24-hour notice, the future Queen of England stood in for Prince Charles who was called off to Saudi Arabia to pay his respects for the late Crown Prince.  As always, the Duchess stunned crowds with her grace, poise, and elegance.  Le sigh...

LV pumpkin!

LV
I'm not a big "logo all over the place" person, BUT this pumpkin is TO DIE FOR!
I heart it.  So clever & fun!  Pretty sure I'm obsessed with pumpkins by now.
Thanks to the crew at Refinery 29 for sharing the love.
Click here to find out how to make it.  Happy carving!

C'est chic!

LOVING this girl's look spotted at Paris Fashion Week.  Her braids give her otherwise tough girl look a very feminine touch.  How do you combine styles to create your own unique look?

Decorating au naturale

As you start decorating your home for the holidays, consider going green by using natural elements.  Items such as real pumpkins, pine cones, and artichoke hearts look gorgeous on a table.  After you use them as decor, you can eat them/cook with them or put them back outside.

What is your favorite way to decorate au naturale?

Pumpkin patch

It's pumpkin time! When you go to get your pumpkin this year, make sure to go green by supporting your local pumpkin farmers.  Many pumpkin patches have a charitable component, so try to find one if possible.  For more information on finding a local pumpkin patch, go to http://www.pumpkinpatchesandmore.org/.

Never too old

"If you are breathing, it's not too late."
(Wilma Melville)
Always dreamed of being a reporter, learning how to play the guitar, or running a marathon?  Now is the time my friends.  You're younger today than you ever will be again.  Don't let life pass you by if you still have dreams you want to pursue.  Take life by the horns and be in charge of your own destiny.  Because at some point, it will be too late.  Follow your dreams today!

Costume shopping in your closet

As you think about Halloween this year, take a look in your closet.  Instead of buying or renting a costume, go green by using items you already have to create a custom costume.  This isn't a new idea, but I think it's a great one.  You could also do a costume swap with friends, so you can all have a "new" costume this year.  I had everything in my closet this year except for one small item which I bought on www.etsy.com.  Who or what are you going to be this year for Halloween?

J'adore ces bicyclettes!

So I still REALLY want a bike.  Don't you just love these photos of fun bikes?  Not sure if it's a good idea to bike in heels, but she makes it work.  Pretty sure the white bike with the flowers in the basket is my favorite.  SO stunning!  Do you own a bike?  If so, do you actually use it?  Happy Sunday!

Organize away

As the seasons change, now is the time to clean out your closet.  Go green by going through each item to determine if you want to keep it, repair it, or give it away.  Your "trash" could be someone else's treasure.  I highly recommend organizing your closet by category and then again by color.  This might be a bit much for some, but I promise that it makes getting ready SO much easier.  I even have subcategories such as casual dresses and work/formal dresses.

Organizing your wardrobe is beneficial for many reasons.  You streamline your wardrobe by getting rid of what you don't wear, and you can figure out what you can still wear that needs repair.  (My general rule of thumb is that I get rid of an item if I haven't worn it in the past year.)  You also give back by donating your gently used items to someone who will treasure them.  You'll be surprised how organizing your closet and pairing down your wardrobe gives a whole new light to what you already own.  How do you organize your closet?
