Do you need a cold shower?

Trying to cut back on your power and water bills this summer?  Consider going green by lowering the temperature on your water heater* to 120.  Doing so will help decrease your power bill since the water heater will be using less power to heat the water.  You will also most likely save on your water bill because you will be less likely to stay in a cooler shower.  Shorter, cooler showers=more money saved.  AND, you won't have to turn your AC down when you're getting ready because you won't be warm from your shower.  Think about it people...

According to www.energysavers.gov, "Reducing your water temperature to 120ºF also slows mineral buildup and corrosion in your water heater and pipes. This helps your water heater last longer and operate at its maximum efficiency."

For more information, go to http://www.energysavers.gov/your_home/water_heating/index.cfm/mytopic=13090.  *Always make sure to consult the manual for your water heater before attempting to lower the temperature on it.

Such a good idea, the little things can make great differences! I started going everywhere by bike and sure do not regret it!
