Tunnel of Love-ticket please!

I saw this image here and absolutely HAD to share it with you.
Pretty sure this train track in Kleven, Ukraine leads straight to Narnia!
It's called the Tunnel of Love-so fitting!
Do places like this really exist?
Apparently, they do.

NYFW Fall 2011

Did any of you get to attend New York Fashion Week?  It's a dream of mine to go one day, and it WILL happen.  Here are a few looks from NYFW.  Enjoy!
Bright orange seemed to be THE color of S/S 2012.
I bet it will be Pantone's Color of 2012.

Patterned nails are quite the rage these days-as seen at Nicole Miller.

One shouldered dresses were all over the runway.
I have sported this look since high school, so I am sold.

This look is from an ad for the Karen Elson for Nine West collection.
LOVE her fun, retro, playful look.  Ms. Elson always rocks.

Voila la piece de resistance chez Zac Posen.
This dress is everything.  I can see Rachel Bilson in it.
Gorgeous!

What were your favorite looks from NYFW?

Do redheads really have more fun?

I don't know about you, but I am obsessed with Drew Barrymore's recently dyed red hair.  I think it looks absolutely stunning on her.  I've always been a HUGE Drew fan, and now I love her even more.  Since less than 2% of the world's population has (natural) red hair, I love when I see another beautiful redhead.  While I realize that Drew is not a natural redhead, she looks amazing with her fiery locks.  Of course, I have to pose the question: do redheads really have more fun?  Why yes, yes we do!

Got sunscreen?

This isn't exactly a go green tip, but I think it's incredibly important.  We all know it's a pain to apply sunscreen before spending time in the sun.  Trust me, it drives me crazy, but I wear it every day.  The next time you feel tempted not to wear sunscreen, remember this photo.
Pictured above are two identical twins, age 61.  The woman on the left wore sunscreen throughout her life.  Her sister did not.  Just some food for thought when you think about baking at the pool/beach all day or (it pains me to even have to say it) go to the tanning bed.

Is this normal?

Is this normal?  I'm pretty sure that most people don't have this many colors of nail polish.
This is AFTER I threw away some shades too...yikes!

(Pla)...with a Purpose

I had the privilege of meeting (Pla) Beauty Founder Stephanie Green Bass at Woo Cosmetics and Skincare last week.  Not only is her line absolutely amazing, but Stephanie is a truly lovely woman.  Having lost her first daughter Bella when she was just 18 days old, Stephanie decided to give back to a cause near and dear to her heart.  A portion of all proceeds goes to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA), the place where Stephanie, her husband, and Bella stayed during Bella's short life.  Stephanie and her husband are now the proud parents of their daughter Ava, but Bella's memory will live on through their lives and Stephanie's work.

Stephanie describes the purpose and mission for (Pla-pronounced "Play"-my computer won't type the accent mark in the name) Beauty: "(Plā) beauty is a high fashion, customizable cosmetic line, designed for the woman on the go. It contains paraben free products, infused with antioxidants and hydrating properties. I also wanted to incorporate an eco-conscious aspect to the line so that, by using refillable products, magnetic compacts and cutting down on wasteful packaging, we can be kind to the planet while still looking and feeling great!"

Sounds like a winning combination to me.  You can find (Pla) Beauty products at Woo Skincare and Cosmetics in Atlanta and Nashville.  I went to the Atlanta location for the first time last week and fell in love.  Woo is every product junkie's heaven.  It's filled to the brim with fun products that Woo's friendly, talented staff show you how to use.

Stephanie did my makeup (see above for the results), and I was incredibly pleased with the results.  I've spent the past week testing out the line, and I am sold.  The products don't feel heavy but provide full coverage.  My favorite is (Pla) Beauty's lipgloss "Hottie," a shiny ginger red shade.  I love wearing it because it looks good and makes me feel good knowing that a portion of my sale went to CHOA.

Go see Stephanie today...and (Pla) with a Purpose.

In LOVE with Mary Kay!

So, I recently fell in LOVE with Mary Kay...the makeup and skincare line that is. Having never used Mary Kay before, I attended a friend's party and was blown away by their amazing products. Everything from the eye shadows to their lipglosses is absoluetly phenomenal.

I highly recommend their Timewise Miracle Set. It is pricy, but I can already tell a difference in how my skin looks and feels. I truly love all Mary Kay products, but some other favorites are their eye shadows, lipglosses, mineral powder foundation, and their blush. Their eye shadows are actually made in the same factory in Italy as MAC but cost less than half the price. You really can't go wrong!

If you live in the Atlanta area, you should schedule a Mary Kay party with my rep Laurin. That way you can take advantage of the fabulous hostess benefits. If you don't live in Atlanta or don't want to host a party, visit her Web site at www.marykay.com/Laurin to check out all the wonderful products. Laurin is fabulous, and you will love working with her before, during, and after your party. She didn't ask me to write this by the way...I am just IN LOVE with all of these products and wanted to share them with you. Let me know what you think!
